Under the weather

December 17, 2006

First I had LOTS of work, work, work, no play, then i became so very sick. I know the two are connected, sigh. I’m going to have to remember this. I haven’t been this sick in a really long time. I’m usually not sick, and when I do get a throat ache it stays for barely a day or two. This time, I’ve been with fever, horrible throat ache, coughs and all the nasty feelings that come along with it since Wednesday. Ugh. Being self-employed, I also have to get some work done, can’t just lay in bed. Another sigh.

Definitely no inspiration there, but I’m reading a fantastic book: Au Bonheur De Dames (I’m reading it in Hebrew) by Emile Zola, which my mom bought me. A curious gift, I agree, but it’s wonderful. So I’m back to my book. Stay well. I hate winter, have I said that before? Let it be over already!

I think I was just waiting for this opportunity. First of all, I’m in love with my new square punch. It’s so versatile and fun! So you can guess what all my cards are going to look like in upcoming months. Second, I’ve loved Joy Madison’s work for a long time, so that when I received the first altered book in the round robin, themed “favorite things”, I knew exactly what I was going to do.

I’m very happy with the outcome, and can’t wait to see what others do!

One teeny tiny note to book alterers who are sending their books in tightly sealed envelopes – try not to use too many types of glues/paints/other formulas. It really smells bad…:(

You have to see this Christmas greeting, it’s fun!

No news is good news?

December 2, 2006

Not much crafting was done these last few days, I’ve been drowning under heaps of work, and didn’t even have time to pop in here for updates. I’ve also been a very bad swapper – late, late, late (but all ready to be sent tomorrow!) Which is not to say I haven’t been peeking inside blogs or shopping online, in case you were wondering.

I ordered another 3 Somerset magazines, because I enjoyed them so much, and I received my BEAUTIFUL stamps ordered from Catslife Press, and I have to share them with you because they’re so very beautiful, AND I got one stamp as a free surprise! (don’t you love sellers who surprise you?) I know you want to see them, so here they are:

And the only bit of crafting I did manage to get done was this card for a good friend’s bachelorette (which I did using my newest punch and first b-day gift):

And now I’m going out for my pre-birthday dinner, and when I come back I’ll be one year older, and still have a whole day of celebrations ahead of me – grand, no? 😉
